Louis Vuitton- Limited Edition Monogramouflage

June 4th, 2008 by jelly

“GAH!” I cannot believe it took 2 top notch designers to come up with this Oh-so-Simple design. I’m not impressed at all and I thought the preview was horrible…

The styles just doesn’t come off as “Wow” as compared to Watercolors, Muliticolors or Damiers. The colors are kind of bland and very forgettable. What can you wear with this? a military jacket? Cuz a cute purple sweater will certainly won’t match…

Conclusion: Personally I will pass from this limited collection. There are plenty of other LVs that are timeless classics and this collection isn’t one of them.

The worldwide launch will be June 15, 2008.

Steve Madden VS. Designer Shoes

May 2nd, 2008 by jelly

I’ve noticed that Steve Madden’s been modeling their new shoes designs after high-end designers.

Usually these designers shoes would cost up to over thousands of dollar, but Steve Madden are selling replicas for mostly under $200.

Here are Some Examples:

balenciaga Balenciaga Fall 2007

Bright Multi Bulked

Here’s One more:

Christian Louboutin Piluca - I got this in NUDE color, and it’s really really adorable and comfy as well!

PIPINGG (comes in 5 different color)

Does it work? Well it certainly sounds promising.

a line of balms, glosses, and lipsticks that claim to suppress appetite through an aromatic blend of ingredients including peppermint, grapefruit, and spearmint

-Boston. com

Lip Balm : $12

Lip Gloss, comes in five different shades (Bodylicious, D’lite, Mini-me, Silhouette, Sugarless) $15

Lipstick, comes in seven different shades (Buff, Hip, Lighten Up, Lip Lock, Pink Grapefruit, Skinny Dip, and SlimMint) $ 18

9 WELL LIP PALETTE  $25: Seems like a good starter kit

The prices are not impressively high at all, which might making people doubt its effectiveness. Hmm

I would love to see all these in person, because products tends to be more aesthetically pleasing on the Internet than in person.

All of these products can be purchased @ Joey NY Specialty

Barbie Collector- Designers

April 28th, 2008 by jelly

Through out the year I’ve never related the words Barbie and designers together. It’s always been funky looking Cher and Mary-Kate & Ashley dolls. However, I’ve just recently discovered they do make some high quality and fashionable dolls, which I would love to collect..eventually….

Newest edition to the Barbie Collector: TARINA TARANTINO

Ooh-La-Lash- New Volumizing Mascara

April 16th, 2008 by jelly

Here we go again. Another mascara that promise to deliver us the picture-perfect lashes.

  • Features a special clay-like compound that swells up with water, which is mixed in as the wand moves up and down the lashes during application.
  • Uses only skin-safe, richly-hued iron oxide pigments … which are then specially surface-treated to lock the pigments in, preventing contact with the underlying skin through smearing, smudging, even with tearing and rubbing for 15-20 seconds.
  • A unique film-former then wraps around each lash creating lightweight yet solid sleeves — almost like a shellac — that:
    1. Add even more volume to each lash,
    2. Separate and define while building up,
    3. Lock in pigments even more to prevent smearing, and smudging all day.
  • Individuating sleeves stay true all day. So true that they come off in whole pieces (again reducing raccoon eyes and skin contact during removal) — slickly sliding off without damaging lashes — with simple water and a cleanser, or VMV’s Soft and Swift Makeup Remover.

The description sounds extremely pleasing! I’m a girl that’s been searching for that “it” mascara. I’ve been very fond of Awake’s mascara, but it has to be rubbed off during the removal process.

I’m definitely going to try this out. It sells for $23 dollars on VMV, which isn’t that expensive, especially if it does what it stated in the description.

Luca Stappers- Opel Agila Inspired Shoes

April 16th, 2008 by jelly

These are so adorable! Opel is a German automaker. This pair of shoes is inspired by the second generation Opel Agila.

Luca Stappers released this on April 2, 2008 at Shoebaloo Boutique in Amsterdam.

No price has been set yet, but I doubt the design appeals to a large variety of consumers. Personally, I would buy it.

But hey, people where going googoo-gaga over Marc Jacobs’s Mouse Shoes, so why not these??

That’s just my two cents.

Louis Vuitton- Monogramouflage

April 2nd, 2008 by jelly

Takashi Murakami together with Marc Jacobs finally revealed to us their new Louis Vuitton deign: Monogramouflage

80453547AW020_Preview_Of_Ta

It will be debuting exclusively at the New York’s Brooklyn Museum of Art on June 1, 2008. Pictures of the bags themselves have yet to be released, but we do know that the Monogramouflag will come in THREE different shades of color.

Get them FAST before they run out. I’m 100% sure these bags will fly off the shelf in a matter of seconds.

Till then, the opening of Murakami’s exhibition is in 3 days @ the Brooklyn Museum of Art. It is the same exhibition displayed at Los Angle’s MOCA last year. It will be open to the public from April 5 to July 13. After that the exhibition will travel to Germany and then Spain.

There will be an Open Shop at the exhibition, which will be selling limited edition Louis Vuitton items (including the Monogramouflage design), handbags and accessories.

Here two view of the shop itself *drools*

Shop pictures are from Gothamist

Also, Murakami promised us LV fans that he will be unveiling a new character! *Can’t wait to know what it is*

As of now, small Murakami’s exhibition items can be bought @ Shop: Murakami

I’m not sure how these will fair on the fashion market. I can see models and celebrities wearing this on the runway and the red carpet, but that’s about it. It can be unfold into a flat piece, which becomes easily portable.

I don’t believe this would be “safe” to wear. what if it breaks apart? Also, not really feeling the reverse heel.

Good to look at architecturally, but not for everyday wear.

Dior - Tinsley Pink Lip Gloss

March 26th, 2008 by jelly

Yes, Tinsley Pink is named after the model Tinsley Mortimer aka Dior Beauty Ambassador, who apparently is huge in Japan right now. Her face is on billboards everywhere and fans cry & screams whenever she she makes an appearance. Personally, I’ve never heard of her till I found out about this gloss.

The color is so pink and shimmery, just perfect for this summer/spring.  It will be release exclusively in May, 2008 at Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide.

Retail price will be $24.50, same the other Ultra Addict glosses

I’m anticipating for this personally. And of course, this is limited edition as well.
